Celebrating
80 years
of Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren is featured in the April 2016 issue of the British Empire Magazine. They have an exclusive first look at “Eye in the Sky”, a very positive review on the film, as well as an in-depth interview with Helen, for which they write: “The characters Helen Mirren plays have one thing in common: you wouldn’t mess with them. No, sir. And her latest may be her most formidable yet.” Digital scans from my copy can be found in the photo gallery.
Last night, Helen Mirren has attended the New York premiere of “Eye in the Sky”, in which she stars as a military officer in command of a drone operation to capture terrorists in Kenya. The film releases US theaters tomorrow and UK theaters on April 15. Pictures from the premiere have been added to the photo gallery.
Scans from the February issues of Vanity Fair and the German Hoerzu Magazine with a special coverage on the Goldene Kamera, including an interview with Helen, have been added to the photo gallery. Many thanks to Alvaro for submitting the former magazine. Very appreciated.
Yesterday, Helen Mirren took the stage in Hamburg, Germany, to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Goldene Kamera, Germany’s biggest honor for film, television, music and culture. This appearance was a bit of a surprise since I didn’t know she was announced as a recipient, so even better to see so many new pictures. Plus, the complete segment of her honor (introduced by German “Trumbo” co-star Christian Berkel, who played Otto Preminger) can be watched in the video archive. The speech, which has been dubbed in German but is still possible to be heard, featured some wonderful remarks on being an emigrant herself and thanking her German dubbing voice for giving half her performance.

Helen Mirren has attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards yesterday as a triple nominee for Best Supporting Actress and Ensemble for “Trumbo” and Lead Actress for “Woman in Gold”. The trophies went to Alicia Vikander, Spotlight and Brie Larson. Still, what a great honor for last year’s work to be mentioned three times. Helen took the stage anyway, alongside Bryan Cranston and Diane Lane, to introduce the segment for “Trumbo”. Pictures from the red carpet and the show have been added to the photo gallery, with more to come. Edit: Hundreds of additional pictures plus two video clips from the ceremony and the arrivals have been added. Scroll down for a complete list.
