“Give A Doubt” comes after new research by Cadbury revealed that over 74% of the nation’s 18–30 year olds are facing daily concerns around their future, with 34% having no confidence that they will be able to meet their personal and professional goals. Following the success of ‘Donate Your Words’ which sought to raise awareness of loneliness amongst older people, “Give A Doubt” seeks to tackle the record number of young people in the U.K. who are struggling with self-doubt every day, by asking the nation to “Give A Doubt”, open up, be more vulnerable and share their personal experiences of doubt. Cadbury believes that there is generosity in everyone and ‘Give A Doubt’ taps into this spirit. From Oscar winner Dame Helen Mirren to BAFTA winner Big Zuu, and from five-time gold Paralympic medalist Ellie Simmonds, to national football icon Ian Wright, the celebrities stretch across a range of varying industries and across different age groups to share their most powerful doubts. The campaign video was originally released on May 16, 2022 and can be watched below.

“Now, more than ever, the world needs Documentary Now!,” says Helen Mirren in a 15-second teaser for the cinéaste spoof series’ 53rd season (which, in our extradiegetic reality, is really only season four). The season will kick off with the two-parter “Soldier of Illusion,” a Werner Herzog parody written by John Mulaney and starring Alexander Skarsgård as a German documentarian in the early 1980s trying to “will his magnum opus into existence while working in the remote, punishing conditions of the Russian Ular mountains.” The other newly announced title is “Trouver Frisson,” an homage to Agnès Varda films like The Gleaners and I and The Beaches of Agnès, starring Call My Agent!’s Liliane Rovère as “celebrated French filmmaker Ida Leos” as she “searches for why she no longer experiences ‘frisson.’” The other three episodes that have previously been announced for this season include “My Monkey Grifter,” a My Octopus Teacher riff starring Jamie Demetriou, whose comedic persona is already “this man could definitely be outwitted by a monkey”; “Two Hairdressers in Bagglyport,” a fusion of The September Issue and Three Salons at the Seaside starring Cate Blanchett in her grand Documentary Now! return; and “How They Threw Rocks,” a quirky sports doc chock-full of Welsh icons including Jonathan Pryce, John Rhys-Davies, and Tom Jones. Those last three were all written by Seth Meyers, who helms the series along with Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Rhys Thomas. Documentary Now! season 53 premieres on IFC and AMC+ on Wednesday, October 19, at 10 p.m.

The first full trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods has just landed online, giving us a glimpse of Dame Helen Mirren in action as one of the film’s central villains. In the new DC Extended Universe film, coming to cinemas this December, Mirren plays Hespera, one of the daughters of Atlas along with Kalypso, played by Lucy Liu, who make up the film’s central villains. They’ll take on Zachary Levi’s returning hero Billy Batson/Shazam, who is seen in the trailer struggling to bring his ‘Shazamily’ of super-powered foster siblings together, while still indulging in the fun of being a boy in a superhero’s body. The trailer was released during Warner Bros Theatrical’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, which also saw an appearance from Johnson dressed as Black Adam to hype up the crowd. In a message recorded with Zegler for the panel, Mirren said she “absolutely loved playing Hespera” and that she’s “such a delightful baddie and a bad ass”. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be released in cinemas on 21st December 2022.

Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson headline the upcoming coming-of-age film White Bird: A Wonder Story – and People has an exclusive first look at the moving trailer. The drama is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Wonder author R. J. Palacio, which was adapted into a 2017 film starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, and sparked a movement to “choose kind.” White Bird, the inspirational next chapter, follows Julian (Bryce Gheisar), who has struggled to belong ever since he was expelled from his former school for his treatment of Auggie Pullman. To help transform Julian’s life, the boy’s grandmother (Helen Mirren) tells him of her own story of courage – as a child in Nazi-occupied France, a boy sheltered her from danger. White Bird: A Wonder Story, with a screenplay by Mark Bomback, opens in theaters October 14. A first set of production stills have been added to the photo gallery.

Thank you for letting me burble on about my career,” Helen Mirren laughs self-deprecatingly, after looking back on her glittering body of work in the latest instalment of our video series, How I Got Here. Of course, the pleasure is all ours. As one of the most lauded, critically acclaimed and celebrated British actresses of the last century, her fans and peers alike remain fascinated and in awe of her five-decade long career spanning film, theatre and television. This was evident just recently at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild awards in February, at which Mirren was given the Life Achievement Award – voted for by her fellow actors – presented to her by Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet. Mirren was inspired to become an actress after watching a local production of Hamlet as a teenager. “I’m sure the production was terrible, but Shakespeare, the story of Hamlet… it was a thriller to me,” she tells us. “I went back home and we had this huge book of Shakespeare. I went through it looking for characters I responded to. That was what led me into wanting to become an actress.” The complete interview and video can be watched over at Harper’s Bazaar.

Netflix has announced new additions to the extensive list of guest stars appearing on the new season of Human Resources. The series is set to premiere on March 18. The new guests include Helen Mirren as renowned Shame Wizard Rita St. Swithens, Hugh Jackman as Dante the seductive Addiction Angel, Lupita Nyong’o as Asha the Shame Wizard, Chris O’Dowd as Flanny the Lovebug, and Harvey Guillen as Jose the Spider Receptionist. Additionally, new humans appearing in the season are Ali Wong as Becca, Janelle Monáe as Claudia, Mike Birbiglia as Barry, and Tim Robinson as Doug. The new guest stars join the previously announced Pamela Adlon, Rosie Perez, Henry Winkler, Thandiwe Newton, Jemaine Clement, Maria Bamford, and Bobby Cannavale. Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph, Aidy Bryant, Randall Park, Keke Palmer, Brandon Kyle Goodman and David Thewlis star as series regulars.

From the inventive minds that brought us the award winning adult animation favorite Big Mouth comes the even edgier and adult-ier Human Resources. The spin-off pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the creatures – Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards and many more – that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to parenthood to the twilight years. It quickly becomes clear that though the protagonists are creatures, they have a lot of humanity themselves. Featuring an all-star voice cast- including Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph and David Thewlis reprising their Big Mouth roles as well as Aidy Bryant, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Keke Palmer, and Randall Park among others – “Human Resources” is not your normal day at the office. The series is co-created and executive produced by Kelly Galuska, Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin.

Yesterday, Helen Mirren was honored at the 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony with the Lifetime Achievement Award, an accolade she says she owes to a personal mantra she lives by. “Lifetime Achievement, that sounds so grand. I supposed I’m still alive so by that measure, I’m eligible,” Mirren joked on stage to her fellow actors in the audience. “But honestly, any achievement that I’ve succeeded in is the result of my mantra, ‘Be on time and don’t be an ass.’” She said, “I’m simultaneously enormously proud, and yet I’m driven with the understanding that I absolutely do not deserve this. And there is this conflict that I believe you all understand: insecurity versus ego. That cocktail that I believe most actors sip in the evening as they contemplate the wonderful gift they received the moment they decided to become an actor.” Video clips from red carpet interviews, her acceptance speech and the press room have been added to the video archive. Please bear with me as I’m adding pictures to the photo gallery as time permits.
