On Tuesday, a new trailer dropped for F9, the next installment, which arrives in theaters on June 25 – most probably. We actually got our first look at F9 well over a year ago, when the first trailer dropped at the end of January 2020. Family has been a central theme to the F&F movies, and that continues here. Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) and the gang have to confront his younger brother Jakob (John Cena), described as “the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve encountered.” He’s working with criminal mastermind Cipher (Charlize Theron), who sports a much more flattering haircut than in Fate of the Furious, the movie where she improbably hacked a bunch of old cars to drive themselves. Based on this second trailer, the plot for F9 appears to involve magnets, and at one point Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) don makeshift pressure suits and take to the skies in what might be a DeLorean with rocket boosters strapped to the roof. Helen Mirren returns in her third appearance in the F&F franchise. New posters and screencaptures from the trailer have been added to the photo gallery.

The Curt Bergfors Food Planet Prize was established to find, recognize, and support initiatives and projects that can help us shift to resilient food systems and achieve food security already within this decade. This inaugural year, we received 650+ nominations, illustrating a diverse global community devoted to re-imagining food in all its complexity. Reshaping the food system requires an abundance of ingenious ideas and a broad range of approaches and solutions, some of them disruptive enough to radically cut through value chains and confront current perceptions of what food can be – and how it can be sourced. The challenge is global, this is why the solutions must have the potential to scale, preferably globally. To make it happen requires political will, ample funding, and consumers taking responsibility. It requires insight, and it will take courage. The prizewinners – and finalists – represent some of the many areas we need to explore to save the Food Planet. Responding to the ever-louder emergency calls from both People and Planet, the Curt Bergfors Foundation is doubling its stake in the rescue mission. This year, we’re awarding four – instead of two – US $1 Million prizes. At the recommendation of the Food Planet Prize Jury, one of the Prizes will be shared as the two recipients already collaborate on a key area: alternative sourcing of food and feed.
Sarah Cooper’s new comedy special on Netflix includes a skit in which she and Helen Mirren parody Donald Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood tape. In 2016, an Access Hollywood outtake from 2005 resurfaced, in which the future president boasted about his ability to sexually harass and assault women, saying: “Grab them by the p***y.” The show’s co-host Billy Bush could be heard laughing along. In the new Netflix special, Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine, Cooper offers an “exclusive look” at Trump and Bush’s conversation. The skit sees Cooper lip-sync the role of Trump, while Bush is played by Mirren. In a review for Vanity Fair, Yohana Desta said Mirren “gamely embodies the weaselly Bush, egging Trump on”. The LA Times’s Robert Lloyd, meanwhile, called the re-enactment “somehow even more disturbing than the real thing”. Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine is out now on Netflix. The only thing better than finding a really great old television appearance you’ve been looking for is finding one that you didn’t even know existed. The Dick Cavett archive has posted a clip this week of Helen’s appearance on the show in 1995. It was a banner year in Helen’s career, having just appeared in the fourth cycle of “Prime Suspect”, being an Academy Award nominee for “The Madness of King George” and about to make her Broadway debut in “A Month in the Country”. In the clip above, they talk about all of the mentioned projects and lots more. The appearance has been added to the video archive with screencaptures being added to the photo gallery. Enjoy.

Disney+ dropped a trailer for the upcoming film “The One and Only Ivan.” The movie is based on the award-winning book by Katherine Applegate and tells the story of Ivan, a silverback gorilla. The gorilla learns that life isn’t defined by place and circumstance but by the power of friendship and the courage to make change happen. You’ll be able to stream the movie on Disney+ on August 14th. “The One and Only Ivan” is directed by Thea Sharrock from a screenplay by Mike White, and is produced by the late Allison Shearmur, Angelina Jolie, and Brigham Taylor. Sue Baden-Powell and Thea Sharrock served as executive producers on the project. You can find Katherine Applegate’s bestselling book, which won numerous awards upon its publication in 2013, including the Newbery Medal, right here on Amazon. The Disney+ release features a hybrid of live-action and CGI, and stars Sam Rockwell as the voice of Ivan; Angelina Jolie as the voice of Stella; Danny DeVito as the voice of Bob the dog; Helen Mirren as the voice of Snickers the poodle; Brooklynn Prince as the voice of Ruby; Ramon Rodriquez as the mall employee George; Ariana Greenblatt as George’s daughter Julia; and Chaka Khan as the voice of Henrietta the chicken. The voice cast also includes Mike White as the voice of Frankie the seal; Ron Funches as the voice of Murphy the rabbit; Phillipa Soo as the voice of Thelma the parrot; and Bryan Cranston as Mack, the mall’s owner.
Disney’s “The One and Only Ivan” is an unforgettable tale about the beauty of friendship, the power of visualization and the significance of the place one calls home. Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and various other animals. He has few memories of the jungle where he was captured, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ruby is recently separated from her family in the wild, which causes him to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be.

The full video interview with Helen Mirren can be watched here. Helen Mirren loves playing women with power. She won an Oscar for playing Elizabeth II in “The Queen,” and a Tony for playing her again in another Peter Morgan drama, “The Audience.” In the interview above, we Zoomed with the actress, situated in the spare bedroom of the Northern California home she shares with husband Taylor Hackford, to dig into her “Catherine the Great” for HBO. Set in opulent 18th Century Russia, the four-hour limited series, written by Nigel Williams (“Elizabeth I”) and directed by Philip Martin (“The Crown”), is jam-packed with romance, court intrigue and the theater of politics. Of all the queens she’s played, from Shakespeare’s Titania to Cleopatra, “they don’t come any more powerful than Catherine the Great,” said Mirren. “It’s the most extraordinary story of a young woman having the courage and intelligence and tenacity and intellect to be able to say, ‘I can do this, run this complex difficult country.’ Then of course after she died, everything she accomplished, with incredible success, everything she achieved, her son tried to destroy.” Powerful men maligned her, damaging her reputation. “It was mostly the lies spread about her by Frederick the Great,” said Mirren, “who hated her because she was powerful and successful and she stood up to him. He couldn’t stand that she was woman who was successful.”
Dame Helen Mirren and David Walliams are offering fans the chance to win 15-minute video-calls with them to raise money for Barnardo’s. They have joined the children’s charity for its 15 Minutes With Fame prize draw, raising money to help continue its work during the coronavirus pandemic. Winners will be able to quiz Dame Helen about her life and work, or have comedian and children’s author Walliams read a bedtime story. They join previously announced names including Dame Emma Thompson, Russell Howard, Catherine Tate, Jamie Vardy and Lennie James. Barnardo’s chief executive Javed Khan said: “The vulnerable children Barnardo’s supports need us now more than ever. “We’re working round the clock to adapt our vital services, so we can continue to help children and families – whether face to face, on the phone or through an app. “But we cannot do this alone, and with our shops closed and major events cancelled, we’re more reliant than ever on the generosity of our friends and supporters, as well as the British public. “This is why I’m so grateful to our fantastic ambassadors and supporters, and to everyone bidding for 15 Minutes With Fame. “The funds raised will help make sure we can support vulnerable children through this crisis.” Each entry to the draw costs £5 and all proceeds go to the Barnardo’s emergency appeal.
