According to Variety, The 2015 Gotham Awards have lined up Robert Redford and Helen Mirren to receive the Gothams’ annual actor tributes, with producer and Anonymous Content founder Steve Golin set to take home the industry award. Both Redford and Mirren will likely have roles to play in the film industry’s upcoming awards season. Redford appears in the Dan Rather Memogate tale “Truth,” which just opened in Toronto, as well as in recent release “A Walk in the Woods,” while Mirren, who starred earlier this year in “Woman in Gold,” appears in upcoming bio “Trumbo,” and then next year in warfare drone drama “Eye in the Sky.” Redford, Mirren and Golin will each receive a tribute award at the Gothams during the 2015 ceremony, as will the previously announced Todd Haynes (“Carol”). The annual event, one of the fall season’s earliest barometers of awards-season buzz, also includes the announcement of winners in eight competitive categories, including feature, documentary, actor and screenplay, among others. Presented every year by New York’s Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the 2015 Gotham Independent Film Awards are set for Nov. 30 at Cipriani Wall Street.
